Minerva was born June 30, 1922 at home near Webster to Grover and Johanna 'Haye' Porter. She grew up in the Webster/Scribner area and graduated from Scribner High School. After high school she attended Wayne State College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school before her marriage to Myron A. Naber on February 16, 1944. After their marriage the couple lived on several different farms. First, it was West Point, then Scribner, Oakland, then back to Scribner near the air base. Minerva moved into Scribner in 1979. For several years she provided a catering service for the area.

Minerva was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church (north of Hooper) and its WELCA group. She also taught Sunday School. She was a member of extension clubs and a 4-H leader.

Minerva was preceded in death by her husband Myron on September 27, 2006, son Danny, three brothers and a sister.

The funeral will be 10:30am Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (north of Hooper). The Rev. Judy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. Visitation at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel will be Monday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
