Quentin was born December 14, 1928 in Nickerson, Nebraska to Elberth and Elsie 'Niebaum' Marquardt. He was raised on the farm near Telbasta. Quentin moved into Hooper for high school and graduated from Hooper High School. After high school he entered the United States Army. He served from 1951 to 1953 and earned the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. He then returned home and started farming. He married Ramona Miska on September 28, 1957. While farming, he began a long career as a rural mail carrier until retiring.

Quentin was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 18 both of Hooper and the Elkhorn Valley Golf Club in Hooper. He was also a member of the Flying Farmers of America and held several offices at both the local and national levels.

He and Ramona were snow birds, traveling to Arizona for several years during the winter. Quentin was a farmer, even helping his sons last fall, but he also enjoyed golfing, flying and woodworking.

Quentin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers LaVerne and Myron.

The funeral will be 11am Monday, March 12 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Military Honors by the Hooper American Legion Post 18 will be conducted at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Hooper Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm with the family present from 4pm to 6pm at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to either Redeemer Lutheran Church or Hooper American Legion Post 18.
