Barbara Ann Groh

Barbara Ann (Hall) Groh, 94 passed away peacefully January 3, 2018 in Fremont, Nebraska.


Born June 3rd, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Sumner and Louise (Southworth) Hall. She lived and was raised on the family's Sunshine Ranching operation in Antelope County. During WWII years, she lived and worked in the US Navy Admiralty offices in Bremerton, Washington. There she met and married John Wm. Groh on August 10th, 1944. She moved to Fremont in 1950 where she lived and raised her family. Barbara enjoyed gardening, quilting and loved hosting family and friends at her cabin on Long Pine Creek. She was a member of the Prairie Piecemakers Guild and a member of The Presbyterian Church.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her husband John, daughter Paula, infant son Seth, her sister, Virginia (Hall) Kratochvil, and brother Donald Hall.

Survivors include two sons, John S. (wife Leslee) Groh of North Bend, William A. (wife Anita) Groh of Fremont, daughter Barbara (Bobbi) Groh of Lincoln, brother Alan Hall of Neligh, and sister Ellen (Hall) Carter of Elkhorn. Along with eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to The Presbyterian Church or the Dodge County Historical Society. A private interment and memorial service is planned for a later date.
