Arlene was born January 24, 1930 To Charles and Blazina 'Belina' Kander at the Schuyler Hospital. She was baptized March 9, 1930, confirmed May 30, 1943 both at St. John's Lutheran Church in Howells. She attended district #32 school in Stanton County, graduated from Howells High School in 1947, attended Wayne State Teachers College and finished her degree at Midland College (now University) in 1968. She taught school for 30 years in Coon Rapids, Iowa; West Point, NE.; districts #12 and #27 in rural Dodge County, and the Scribner-Snyder School District.

She married Mylo Witt on June 1, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Howells. They had two children Galen and Cynthia. After her retirement from teaching, she kept busy doing substitute teaching, was a member of card clubs and a quilting club. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, reading, handiwork projects and church work. Arlene was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner and the LWML. Prior to St. Peter's she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church west of Scribner, where she taught Sunday School and was superintendent. She also spent several years working at the Dodge County Fair in the Ridgeley Township Booth and helping with the St. Peter's Lutheran Church food stand.

Her two biggest loves were the church and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Mylo in 1994, son Galen in 1972, parents and brother Delaine.

The funeral will be 10:30am Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner, the Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 4pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the church.
