Dorothy I. Kaufmann

Dorothy I. Kaufmann, 92, of Fremont,
died Wednesday evening (May 10, 2017) at Nye Legacy, Fremont.

Dorothy was born to John and Rose (Buller) Wipf on November 16, 1924 on the family farm near Jansen, Nebraska where she grew up and received her education. During her working career, she was a nursing assistant from 1946 to 1984. During this time, she worked in Scottsbluff, North Platte, and then in Omaha where she spent several years with Clarkson Hospital, and then the Lutheran Hospital.

On April 28, 1984, Dorothy was married in Omaha to William L. Kaufmann. The couple moved to Fremont in 1984. Among her interests was working with ceramics.

Dorothy was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church after moving to Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Don Eisenhouer, and her son, Dwight David Eisenhouer, who was killed in Viet Nam, and by 3 brothers, Floyd, Delbert and John Wipf Jr., and 2 sisters, Verdina Johnson and Mary Ann Ruckman.

and several nieces and nephews

The funeral service will be Monday (May 15, 2017) at 1:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the committal to follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Hour.
